A fantastic opportunity for a Farm Manager to join the UK’s largest grower and packer of fresh produce, supplying both Export and UK retail Markets. Main Responsibilities for the successful Farm Manager:
Reporting to the Business Unit Director, you will lead the team to ensure the safe and efficient management of the growing and harvesting of crops whilst promoting a culture of innovation and continuous improvement:
- Safely lead the farming team to achieve targets and budgets.
- Maximise quality and yield of the crop annually.
- Create growing programmes.
- Approve seed density plan and execute seed harvesting and storage regime.
- Determine land requirements based on sales forecasts.
- Manage all inputs and materials.
- Manage assets and asset disposal strategy.
- Manage contractor requirements, terms and invoicing.
- Contribute as a member of the senior.
About the successful Farm Manager:
- Ideally, will have experience of agriculture/seasonal business.
- Experience of leading teams in a farming environment.
- Ability to make decisions in a pressurised environment.
- Excellent communications and organisation skills.
- Highly numerate with ability to understand impact of decisions on financial performance.
- H&S and sustainability ambassador.
- BASIS/FACTS would be advantageous.
- Planning and a track record of continuous improvement.
- IT skills including Microsoft Office.
- A full driving license.
